Dr. Rashid Hasan joined the Department of Petroleum and Mineral Resources Engineering (PMRE), BUET as an Adjunct Faculty member in November 2025. Dr. Hasan is a retired Professor of Petroleum Engineering at Texas A&M University and previously served as Head of the Chemical Engineering Departments at the University of Minnesota Duluth and the University of North Dakota. An internationally recognized expert in production engineering, Dr. Hasan has made seminal contributions to the systematic modeling of heat and fluid transport in petroleum production systems, particularly wellbore heat transfer. His research spans production safety, wellbore integrity, flow assurance, solids deposition, flow metering, and pressure transient analysis. With over 70 refereed journal publications and a definitive textbook, Fluid and Heat Transfer in Wellbores, his association significantly strengthens PMRE’s global academic engagement and research capacity.
