SPE BUET Student Chapter recently visited the Titas-31 Deep Exploratory Well of Bangladesh Gas Fields Company Limited (BGFCL) in Brahmanbaria. Postgraduate students, faculty members, and staff participated in the visit, led by the chapter faculty advisor, Dr. Shahriar Mahmud. The participants observed the drilling rig, major drilling equipment, and ongoing drilling operations. The project incorporates many advanced technologies, powerful equipment, and control systems to ensure its successful execution. The use of managed pressure drilling technology and oil-based mud makes the project particularly demanding from a drilling perspective. Titas-31 is also notable for its planned depth, making the visit a valuable opportunity to observe the operation up close.
